Enter the Senaru mountains, a small community encircled by jungle, and take in views of Mount Rinjani. See two waterfalls. The first set is easily accessible and a short way in. The second waterfall, which is located deep within the jungle and can only be accessed by going up the river and into a clearing, will appeal to your more daring side.
Itinerary:
- Pick up from your hotel (1.5hr from either Mataram or Sengiggi to Senaru)
- On the way, choose to visit Tanjung Traditional Market and/or Bayan Beleq, Lombok’s oldest Mosque
- Tanjung Traditional Market is where local farmers from the area come to sell their produce
- Bayan Beleq, is home to the oldest Mosque in Lombok. At that time, the Islam practiced here was combined with earlier Lombok traditions and is not the same as the Islam practiced in Lombok today
- Drive to the waterfalls
- Arrive at the entrance and walk along the jungle pathways to Sendang Gile Waterfall & and then through a small river and over rocks to Tiu Kelep Waterfall
- Get Lunch at a local Warung (a local style restaurant) or at Pondok Senaru restaurant overlooking views of Rinjani and jungle
- Watch the Sunset on the way back
- Return to or check in at your chosen Hotel

Note
Prices are based on the assumption that guests will be picked up at Mataram or Senggigi and then taken back there. There will be an extra charge for people who want to be picked up or dropped off at other places in Lombok. Larger groups than six can stay, but this needs to be talked over before the reservation is made.
